Ocho Meses

Alrighty we will jump right into it.
Monday we ended our day with Family Home Evening with Rosa and Francisco, and another family. It was a pretty good lesson considering we had 30 minutes to plan it, because we thought the family was going to because it was their idea. But it turned out really good and we shared the family proclamation.

Tuesday it rained alllll day, and this member told us to go knock out this complex because there were apparently a lot of Hispanics. It wasn't, it was actually a lot of people from Iraq! So we didn't really teach anyone haha, they were all really nice though. So we did that until dinner and after dinner we went with a member to a referral we received, he ACTUALLY CALLED US first. So we were so stoked and pumped haha... So we get there, there's a catholic priest, Jehovah's witnesses couple, and a baptist preacher. Well this guy decided he wanted to get everyone together and tell everyone how we are all wrong, and in sin, y debemos arrepentirnos. Hahaha it got absolutely nuts! Everyone started going all out on each other and we just kind of stood back and watched. Well he finally let us go like an hour and a half later, longest hour and a half of my life. So after that we went and helped that member move out his dryer and washer, then we ended the night.

Wednesday and Thursday we had intercambios. Elder Prince came to my area and we put in a ton of work. We got on the bus and headed to the outskirts of my area and the Sisters old area and went to work on these new town homes. We found so many people and taught a bunch! I'm so excited to go back there. Thursday we were pretty busy with appointments and so we just stayed together and taught Brian and Chewy, we had one of the best lessons spiritually I've had on my mission so far. They're SO ready! It's so awesome! So we just went and found new people and taught until coordination meeting that night.

Friday we walked to a new complex that we haven't noticed before and started tracting it, but tracting in middle of the day is pretty scarce teaching. Then we got a call from English wondering if we wanted to blitz an area with them, so I went with an Elder Ure and we started knocking on one side of a neighborhood. It was really fun to teach in English haha, I could go SO much more in depth haha, but it was a lot funnier just teaching in Spanish. I forgot he doesn't speak Spanish so we would get out and he'd be like..."so what happened" haha. We found some pretty good potentials that way, and a lot more English speaking than Spanish. Well, then we had to walk to a member dinner on the other side of town, but she didn't cook because her gas was turned off hahah, so me and Elder Barnes walked to this Peruvian restaurant which was soooo good! That was pretty much our day.

Saturday we started our day by walking across town to have a lesson fall through due to no answer. We then decided just to walk to Brian and Chewy's and teach them. Haha they said when we left they just felt so much better. They said that everything they did that day was just better and they were so much happier. I can't explain how great that feels to hear that! We had another solid lesson with them; in fact they asked us what happens to those that aren't baptized before they die! It was a great lesson. After that we had a ward party where we cooked like 60 lbs of carne asada, there was horchata, these Honduranian hotdogs, which are the best hot dogs in the world, and to top it all off a mariachi band! It was so awesome! After the party we got teach a new referral that we received from the English elders and that was our Saturday.

Sunday Elder Barnes had a greeny moment after church. We saw a guy carrying in a bunch of stuff for a BBQ, like charcoal, lots of beer haha. So we asked if he needed help and he said "yo necesito ayuda a tomar estas". (I need help drinking these) (also tomar is to take, unless it's alcohol- it's to drink) Before I could even laugh at his joke, Elder Barnes was like okay so the guy tossed him a beer haha it was pretty funny. Then we had another guy call us and said he got a card from us and wants to learn more! We got a little nervous about it because the last person who did that obviously didn't end too well like I mentioned earlier...but we headed over anyways with a member. It was actually a really great lesson! He's a Christian preacher and loves God, his family, and living the gospel. He's a really great guy and all his kids are as well. So it went really well.
Well that's my week. It was a fun, crazy, spiritual week. Well.. I'd love to hear from y'all sometime. Love and miss you guys.

Some scriptures from me to you. One of these I like to think about constantly.. Especially in Spanish work when some borracho starts cussing at you in Spanish thinking you don't understand.
And the other is really so short, but yet so powerful. It's really also a great reminder.

1 John 3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you

1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
